Hello and welcome to Spielburg class, my name is Mr Golbourn.
One of the most popular directors and producers in film history, Steven Spielberg is the creative mind behind a host of blockbuster hits that still resonate in pop culture today. The likes of Jurassic Park, Jaws, E.T and Indiana Jones are loved by adults and children alike, and they serve as great lessons in themes like courage, morality and integrity; concepts that play a key role in our learning. He is also a well-known advocate of reading and the important role it plays in education and entertainment. This is something we are incredibly passionate about in Spielberg class and an area of the curriculum that we particularly enjoy.
“Only a generation of readers will spawn a generation of writers” – Steven Spielberg
Hello and welcome to Year 5, our names are Mrs Sivathanu and Mrs Gill.
Many people know that Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist who is well known for her self-portraits. In Frida Kahlo class, we explore the themes of identity and creativity presented in Frida Kahlo’s paintings, and nurture that same passion to be proud to be ourselves, learn about our identity, and develop our creativity throughout our learning. We are particularly inspired to express this creativity through our writing, art and music. Additionally, we are motivated by the courage shown by Frida Kahlo, to bravely overcome difficulties, and develop our own strength to learn through challenges in all areas of learning together.
