This Summer we were very excited to welcome 16 China Exchange pupils from Year 5 and 6 to our school.
They came from Nanjing Yuhua Foreign Language Primary in Jiangsu Province, in China. The children were accompanied by their teachers, and fitted into school life straight away. The children buddied up with children from William Martin, who were the same age and built strong friendships over the week.
Working closely with our sister school St James’ CofE Primary School, we organised lots of exciting activities across the two schools, which all the children loved. These included Forest Schools, Rock Steady, Hip Hop Pop, exciting practical Maths and DT lessons, as well an Art Project “Celebrating Difference” which celebrated the joining of two countries through Education.

In October 2025, Mrs Bailey, accompanied by other Vine Teachers and staff, visited Jiangsu Province in China, to learn about the Education system in China and share good practice.
